The 25th sale of the 2024/25 wool season took place today, with a smaller offering of 5 910 bales, after 1 099 bales were withdrawn prior to the sale.
Fine micron wools comprised 75% of the offering, whilst sustainably certified wools made up 54,6% of the merino wools on offer.
The market delivered steady results today, despite the downward trend in the Australian market this week. A highest price of R281,86 p/kg (clean) was paid for a 2-bale lot of 15,6 micron merino wool.
The Australian market closed down 0,4% (AU$) this week, compared to the previous sale held on Wednesday, 19 March.
